Terms and conditions

Data and International Calls Add-ons
To use an add-on, you must first purchase and activate a Lebara SIM and have an active Lebara Prepaid Mobile plan or have a main balance. You must bring your own approved 4G/5G device (mobile phone, tablet, or laptop). Make sure your device is internet capable and isn’t locked to other networks. You must activate your add-on by the specified offer activation date to benefit from any advertised offers. All offers subject to change. Lebara reserves the right to extend offers.

More information about the underlying add-on product on which the offers are based can be found in the individual add-on Critical Information Summary (CIS). When you activate your Lebara SIM or add-on, you accept the Lebara Standard Form of Agreement. A summary and the full Lebara Standard Form of Agreement and Critical Information Summaries are available on our terms page at /about/terms-and-conditions .

If your add-on expires and you do not have an active plan that includes data (Data Add-on) or international calls (International Calls Add-on), or do not purchase another Data or International Calls add-on or plan or have a main balance, you will lose access to data or international calls. If you do not recharge within 80 days of plan/add-on expiry, you will require a new SIM card to use the Lebara service, and you may lose your mobile number and account with us.

Not transferrable or redeemable for cash. Not for commercial or resale purposes.

 

Data Add-on
The Data add-ons (Small Data Add-on, Medium Data Add-on, Large Data Add-on) are for use in Australia and do not include any voice, SMS or MMS allowance. Data is deducted in KB increments. Add-on data will be used before main recharge data inclusions, bonus data and Data Bank. Unused Add-on data will be lost at the end of the 30 day period and cannot be banked or gifted. All non-personal, commercial, machine-to-machine usage is excluded. All services not listed above, including but not limited to: any voice, SMS or MMS re-routed by a third party and/or re-routed to international numbers, voice call diverts, satellite numbers, video calls voice call diverts, satellite numbers, video calls, premium rated numbers and call forwarding or any other special number as determined by Lebara and disclosed on the website from time to time. Also excluded are data used when you are roaming onto the Pivotel Network or an Australian network other than the Vodafone Mobile Network.

 

 

 International Calls Add-on
The International Call Add-on provides credit to allow you to make international calls to landlines and mobiles from Australia. Unused add-on international call credit will be lost at the end of the 30 day period. Excluded from the add-on :any data, standard national & international SMS/MMS, international roaming, calls made, SMS sent and data used when you are roaming onto the Pivotel Network or an Australian network other than Vodafone Mobile Network; premium rate numbers; international destinations using 0015 and 0019 numbers;  any other special numbers as determined by Lebara which may be disclosed on the Website from time to time;  diversions (international numbers) set up manually on your phone. Also excluded: standard national calls to landline and mobiles; voice call diverts; any voice call, SMS or MMS which is rerouted by a third party and/or rerouted to an international destination or to a premium number or service; any form of video calls in Australia or international; use of the Vodafone Network that is for a non-personal or commercial purpose or for resale by you; and calls and SMS to the Pivotel Network and satellite numbers and machine-to-machine calls.

5G and speed capping
Lebara uses the Vodafone network. You’ll access data on our 4G or 5G network. Vodafone’s 5G network is rolling out to selected areas of major Australian cities. You can use your 5G approved device, with an eligible Lebara plan, in a Vodafone 5G Coverage area to access the 5G Network. In non-5G coverage areas, you’ll automatically switch to Vodafone’s 4G network. Actual speeds vary due to location & network congestion. To check coverage and for updates when 5G is coming to your area visit www.lebara.com.au/support/network. . Our Lebara plans are speed capped, which means your network speed is capped to a maximum speed of 150Mbps or 200Mbps, depending on the speed cap that applies to your plan. These speeds are the maximum potential speeds that you may get access to. The actual network speed you experience may be slower and will vary depending on various factors including your device, location, available bandwidth and source of download. What can I do at 150/200Mbps?

From 10 April 2024, data is capped on our current in market plans at speeds of up to 150 or 200Mbps, depending on your plan. This is typically suitable for day-to-day usage of your mobile devices including standard definition video streaming, listening to music, video calling, web browsing, social media, email and messaging. This is maximum potential network speed and actual speeds will vary and may be slower.

 

Using the service overseas

If you are travelling overseas and want to use your Lebara phone, you will need to purchase a roaming add-on: /prepaid-plans/international-roaming/

Early termination charge
You can cancel whenever you want. There is no fee for cancellation. However, if you terminate the plan prior to the add-on expiration, the add-on prices and any remaining credit will not be refunded. This does not limit any consumer protection rights or remedies you may have, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
